The 25th birthday party held April 11 honored Joseph A. Citta- whose statue (right) was on display- and his namesake school.

April 14, 2025- It's been a year of anniversary celebrations, beginning with Intermediate South's 20-year jamboree to kick off the school year, followed by Intermediate North's 50-year anniversary celebration in February. Last Friday, it was Joseph A. Citta Elementary School's turn.

It's been a quarter century since the school open its doors, and its namesake was a community leader, district hall-of-famer, and great uncle of current superintendent Mike Citta, who was of course on hand for the occasion. That occasion being a 25th birthday party.

Few know what the Citta name stands for more than Superintendent Mike Citta.

Principal Mike Pallen and Supervisor Thomas Lanza helped usher in the festivities which took place in the gym, calling out the "amazing teachers and leaders" who have made Citta School what it is over the past 25 years. Many former school administrators, staff members, and graduates were there to reminisce and rekindle the connections from their cherished time walking the building's bright hallways.

The school wouldn't have its famed and cultivated Citta Style, however, without students, and they were on hand to provide songs, performances, and plenty of loud cheers.

What's a birthday party without music?

It was occasion worthy of joy and coverage, so TRSTV was there to document the former and provide the latter. Watch Citta Elementary School's 25-year celebration right now, right here, and view additional photos from the party below.
