August 16, 2018-- On the heels of Superintendent David Healy’s released Aug. 2, the community has rallied behind Toms River Regional Schools and its effort to restore millions in diverted state funding.
Earlier this week, the district received an unsolicited statement of support from the Greater Toms River Chamber of Commerce, which was drafted and signed by Economic Development Committee Co-Chair Jeremy Grunin.
“Our business community understands the importance of a great school system to a thriving city both to cultivate the next generation of leaders already here and to attract new leaders to the area, the letter reads. “We strongly urge our elected officials to reconsider this decision and to at least restore funding to current levels.
The full content of the letter can be viewed below.
Toms River Regional Schools would like to acknowledge and thank its community partners for their support during this time, and continues to encourage everyone invested in the future of the district and community to make their voices heard in this fight to restore state funding for education.
