April 29, 2025- What did YOU do over spring break?

Whatever it was, it might be tough to compete with the adventures of High School South's Traveling Tribe.

The 35-student cohort—led by tour manager Charlene Wallace and chaperones including fellow HSS teachers Michele Martini, Rob Gold, and Tonya Coppola—visited Costa Rica and Panama.

Students immersed themselves in new cultures, types of foods, and a wide range of local activities.

From snorkeling, kayaking, hiking, swimming, waterfalls, whitewater rafting, and ziplining through the rainforest canopy, student (and staff!) travelers discovered the beauty of the pristine country of Costa Rica.

After landing in Panama, the ensuing three days were spent surfing, sightseeing and witnessing one of the seven man-made wonders of the world, the Panama Canal.

"Having the opportunity to travel with friends, learning about the world around us, and making memories to last a lifetime is truly priceless," said Wallace.

And that is just what this team of dedicated teachers has offered these students for four years running.

Next year? It's off to the Galapogas Islands. A fine destination for the ever-adventurous Traveling Tribe.
